Cold Air Induction Kit

This Cold Air Induction Kit is designed for the 1997-2002 Pontiac Grand Prix equipped with the 3800 (L36) and 3800SC (L67) engines. The kit relocates the PCM (engine computer and replaces the restrictive factory air intake with a large free-flowing enclosure which hides the PCM from view while displaying the 9" K&N cone style filter through a clear polycarbonate cover.

Thrasher conservatively estimate that this kit alone will increase power by approximately 7 to 10 HP; however, its true potential will only be realized when boost is increased from stock boost levels (on L67 3800SC engines) with a Supercharger Pulley kit.

Reflectix Insulation

Reflectix is a 5/16" thick, seven layer, reflective insulation which is available in rolls of various widths and lengths. Two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97% of radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubble pack resist conductive heat flow while a center layer of polyethylene gives Reflectix high reliability and strength

Exhaust Heat Shield

Because space is limited in the Grand Prix's engine bay, the exhaust crossover pipe runs right underneath the throttle body and intake tubing. Our Exhaust Heat Shield bolts on right below the throttle body, protecting it from the harmful radiant heat. As an added bonus, the shield allows air from the radiator fan (and pass through air) to flow between the exhaust pipe and shield, dramatically increasing its effectiveness and lowering underhood temperatures.

The new INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System

The Modular Pulley System hub is cut from 15-5PH stainless steel; this choice in material achieves a superior finish. The hub is machined in two lathe operations, one end after the other, producing a fine finish on all surfaces. The hub bores are honed to finish size within .0003", then washed and packaged. Our pulleys are made from cold-drawn aluminum and cut to ANSI rib profile specifications, unlike most other systems on the market. This means that the belt will actually fit the pulley properly which equals significantly less belt slippage and wear and MORE BOOST! Then they are followed up with a clear anodize for corrosion-free protection. In addition these pulleys are the correct offset for use with the ATI Performance Products SFI-Approved Dampers and are compatible with both six and eight rib belts.

After removing your stock supercharger pulley the INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System stainless steel hub presses on using any 3800 approved pulley tool. Once installed, the hub allows quick changing of pulleys with the included allen wrench. The INTENSE™ Modular Pulley System allows you to change pulleys sizes in just a few minutes to suit your performance needs. Use one pulley for street use and a smaller pulley for the track or when running high octane fuel.

Gatorback Belt

If your supercharger belt is old, worn or stretched, or if you're using a smaller pulley, you could be experiencing horsepower robbing belt slippage. If your supercharger belt is slipping, you're not experiencing optimum boost levels. Gatorback also swallows up irritating chirps, squeaks and squeals due to its Helicog(TM) tooth design. Unlike the straight cogs on standard v-ribbed belts, the diagonal Helicog(TM) teeth on Gatorback actually cancel the noise of pulley contact from one offset cog to another. The result is a reduction in operating noise by as much as 15 decibels.

Random Technology now provides a solution to the restrictive factory downpipe and U-Bend on the GTP/GS exhaust!! Made out of high-quality Stainless Steel construction and Mandrel Bend fabrication techniques offer you the ULTIMATE in minimizing your factory exhaust restriction.
RT data shows a 47% (393cfm vs. 267cfm) INCREASE in exhaust flow compared to the factory system (downpipe, cat, and U-bend).

This Bolt-On system connects to your Factory exhaust manifold ( NOT TOG Headers ) and is available with either a 2.5" OR 3" outlet pipe after the Hi-Flow Cat. The outlet section includes an O2 bung for your factory O2 sensor.

The 2.5" outlet will bolt directly to your factory exhaus, while the 3" outlet is for aftermarket exhausts such as our MSP Signature Series.

Our MSP "Signature Series" Cat-Back Exhaust System consists of the following Aluminized pieces:
- Custom 3" resonator ( with heat shield ) to 3" MANDREL-bent piping
- Custom centered Y-split with HIGH flow design
- Dual 2.5" MANDREL-bent piping to the mufflers
- HIGH Flow Hooker "Aero Chamber" mufflers
- no exhaust tips(customer supplies their own).

- Our System has a POWERFUL Throaty sound with a DEEP tone. Our system also has some interior resonance - as does ALL high-performance exhaust systems.
- We supply the Resonator inlet flange in 2.5" size to directly fit to you STOCK CAT. For those with the 3" Random Technology CAT OR their own custom 3" system - MSP can supply a 3" flange. This flange will require the customer to remove the supplied 2.5" flange and weld the 3" flange to our Resonator inlet.

Stainless Steel Twin Rolled Angle Exhaust Tips

The same great exhaust tips as above but constructed of T304 stainless steel for long life. T304 stainless steel will not rust which is the perfect solution for those of you living in climated where the tips will be exposed to the elements. MSP "Torque Buster" Polyurethane Upper Motor Mounts

1997-current Grand Prix GT/GTP and Regal GS

MSP "Torque Buster" Motor Mounts replace your mushy stock upper motor mount bushings in the radiator brackets. These stock rubber mount bushings allow the excessive movement of your engine under acceleration. This excessive engine movement results in torque loss to the wheels.

MSP "Torque Buster" Motor Mounts use a dense, high-durometer polyurethane that will minimize engine movement and provide more positive driver-feedback. Stainless Steel tubing is used in the center for long-term corrosion resistance.

As you can see in the picture below, the stock bushings are made from a soft rubber material, and they also have a large portion of the bushing missing so that it can "float". This provides for a cushioned ride which is fine for stock, but not desired for the driving enthusiast.

More than a year in development, our Third Gen rocker arms are the absolute highest quality and precision available anywhere at any price. INTENSE™ Third Gen Rocker Arms are being manufactured for us in the U.S.A. by Harland Sharp - the originator of roller tip rocker arms for race engines way back in 1960.

Harland Sharp rocker arms are precision machined and hand assembled to provide you with the quality product you deserve. The rocker bodies are aluminum, with a red anodized finish. The complete rocker arms are much beefier than stock, and still weigh 10.3% less (7.0 ounces versus 7.8 ounces each).

The 1.90:1 INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms are a complete bolt-on kit that should increase top end power by at least 20 to 25 wheel horsepower on a supercharged vehicle and 10-15 wheel horsepower on a naturally aspirated vehicle - depending on what other modifications have been performed. Click here for our first dyno session with Third Gen's showing a net gain of 23 wheel horsepower (29 crank horsepower) with NO OTHER CHANGES on a mildly modded Bonneville SSEi. Supercharged cars with smaller pulleys, aftermarket PCM's and free-flowing exhaust can expect even larger gains. Stock 3800 camshaft lobe lifts are .258", giving theoretical stock valve lifts of .413". These full roller rocker arms provide actual valve lifts of .490". No valve lash adjustments are required with these rocker arms. We highly recommend the use of LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings with 1.90:1 ratio INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms to help reduce the chance of valve float in your motor.

Our full roller rocker arms have no valve cover clearance issues and do not require the use of custom valve covers or spacers. They maintain perfect valvetrain geometry and work fine with stock, lightweight or oil-restricted pushrods. For best performance with INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms, use our Oil-restricted pushrods if you have stock lifters, or our Lightweight pushrods if you are running CompCams lifters. The needle bearing fulcrum and roller tip reduces friction, lowers engine oil temperature, increases horsepower and raises engine speed potential.

NOTES:

- We recommend the use of LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings with 1.90:1 ratio INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms to help reduce the chance of your motor having valve float.

- INTENSE™ Full Roller Rocker Arms are sold as a complete kit, with new mounting plates (6), pedestals (12), bolts (12) and rocker arms (12). Nothing else is required for installation, except in some cases where the valve cover gaskets may not be reusable.

- No special tools are required for installation with the exception of a 1/4" male hex driver and a torque wrench. Simply torque the rocker arm bolts to 25 foot-pounds and the valve cover bolts to 89 inch-pounds.

- We recommend your INTENSE™ Third Generation Full Roller Rocker Arms be installed by a competent professional. These parts can typically be installed with normal hand tools in 2.0 to 6.0 hours, but much care is required and there is opportunity for things to go wrong.

- INTENSE™ Third Generation Full Roller Rocker Arms are warranted for LIFE against manufacturing defects. The warranty provides for replacement rocker arms only, and does not cover labor or any other costs. Purchaser and Installer assume all liability with regard to any and all damages in any way related to the purchase, installation and/or use of these rocker arms.

- If aftermarket valvesprings are used, they must retain the stock type conical (beehive) shape or valvespring to rocker arm clearance problems will result.

*** INTENSE™ Third Gen Rocker Arms will fit any 1995-present 3800 Series II engine, or 2004-present Series III engine. No piston, cylinder head, or pushrod, changes are required to use the 1.90:1 rockers. We recommend the use of LS6 Medium Load Valvesprings with 1.90:1 rockers.

The Engine Cover and Fender supports were re-painted red from Colonial Auto Body Hicksville, NY (516)822-4510. The Engine Cover is Trimmed in Silver using Reflective GTP Engine Cover Decals.
